Refugium

A cube for the garden. A window for the sky.

Stillhaus Refugium, Outdoor sauna · Cube

The design

Refugium is a monolith that stands in the garden as if it had always been there. The vertical slatted facade dissolves in the evening light; the panoramic window faces your finest view: the lake, the maple, the night sky.

Inside, two floating benches of knot-free hemlock, beneath them a band of indirect light. The stove sits hidden behind a stone wall. You won't see it, but you will feel it.
